Susan Burkart, an award-winning author, loves to entertain with stories of romance, time travel, and contemporary fiction that refuse to be confined to a single genre.
Her short story, The King of Lifts, was a winner in the Writer’s Digest 91st Annual Fiction Writing Contest. She was awarded a 2026 Individual Artist Finalist award from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts that supports this work.
A writer since she was first able to grasp a pencil, Susan is also a STEM girl with experience chasing bugs, but insects have yet to play a main role in her fiction.
She is a fountain pen aficionado and loves to dance. Purple is her favorite color. It makes gifting easy.
When not crafting romance adventures or daydreaming about time travel, Susan is living her own happily ever after with her family in south Jersey where she builds gingerbread castles and competes in canine freestyle dancing with her dogs.
